BOARD OF HEALTH WORKSHOP
MONDAY, FEBRUARY 7, 2011

PRESENT: Dr. James Taylor, Chairman, Pat Lariviere, R.N., Co-Chairman, Dr. Lois Roth-Johnson, Beverly Knox, R.N., Dr. Martin Haspel, Jane Crowley, Health Agent, Susan Barker, Assistant Health Agent.
I. OPENING STATEMENTS
Jane Crowley discussed the Proposal of Incentive Grant Program which all local Health Departments are asking to support.
II. UPDATE ON INNOVATIVE ALTERNATIVE SEPTIC SYSTEMS WORKSHOP PLANNING
Discussion about topics to be discussed at the I/A Forum. Jane Crowley will be discussing local approval issues, what the Health Department sees, environmental projects, and water quality issues. George Heufelder will be discussing field operation issues such as design, sampling and maintenance of systems and new technologies. Susan Rask will be discussing the Carmody database system and assessing Eastham data, nitrogen performance.
Invitation wording was discussed and ways in which to outreach to the community on the importance of this event.
III. OTHER BUSINESS
Dr. Taylor discussed his involvement with Duffy Healthcare, and discussed the possibility of the Board of Health becoming more involved with doing something beneficial to help the Eastham community, such as medical services, and possible COA outreach.
